Cottages for Kids starts today

We previewed the playhouses at Rosemary Beach and were in awe of this year's masterpieces. The playhouses were constructed for CVHN's Cottages for Kids fundraiser, when local architects and builders create dream homes for little ones. CVHN is an organization near and dear to our hearts that provides free medical, dental and mental health services for local children. The playhouse tours start today, and the live auction will take place on November 29.

It was especially fun seeing our friends' designs. Seaside Town Architect Leo Casas was the genius behind Piazzeta dei Bambini {Little Kids' Plaza}. It's three smaller playhouses that are arranged to make a larger space for play, including a pizzeria {Love it!}, grocery store, and ice cream shop.
Wade Squiers and Brad Beauchamp created Plato's Playground and even let kids paint some of their own designs on the playhouse. {We're pretty sure the beautiful angels on the ceiling were created by a big kid named Krista.}

1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is the brainchild of Marieanne-Khoury and Eric Vogt at Alys Beach. Our little fish was immediately drawn to the bright colors created by recycled aluminum cans and the cool rope climbing wall.

It would take pages to elaborate on how amazing all the cottages are, so we'll share more in later posts. Please note that these photos were taken while the finishing touches were being put on the playhouses, so go see the finished products for yourself. Congratulations and thanks to all involved, especially Kate Johnson, Chairwoman Extraordinaire {and part-time pretty face behind the counter at Pizza by the Sea}.
