Seaside Town Architect Leo Casas was the mastermind behind Piazzeta dei Bambini {Little Kids' Plaza}. It's three smaller playhouses that are arranged to make a larger space for play, including an ice cream shop, pizzeria and grocery store. We've enjoyed getting to know the Casas family, including Leo's wife Tara and their beautiful daughter Cecilia and always like seeing them at Pizza by the Sea. We were immediately drawn to Leo's contribution to this year's event because of the pizzeria playhouse.
"We've created a pizzeria, grocery store, and ice cream shop, but because of their simple design, the playhouses can easily be transformed into any kind of shop that kids might imagine," said Leo. "We're hoping our Piazzeta will be purchased for one of our local 30A playground areas, but we also see that perhaps a few families would want to get together to bid on them and each take one home to their backyard. Either way, we guarantee many hours of wonderful play!"
Hamid Joodi and his team from Arkon Group put many hours of time and talent into making Leo's vision a reality. Hamid's wife Rhonda added all of the finishing touches like the curtains and aprons. {We are happy to say the Joodi's are also frequent customers at our place.} Hamid enjoyed being involved in this event so much, that he says he is "already anxious to get started on next year's entry!" Dave LaRocca designed the signs and fun wooden activities for kids including ice cream cones and scoops that can be served in the ice cream shop, pizzas to be made and served in the pizzeria and a variety of groceries in the market. Come see Piazzeta dei Bambini for yourself this weekend in Rosemary Beach.
