A Busy Weekend in Sowal!

So much to do this weekend in Sowal!  Here's just a few things you may enjoy, whether you are local or visiting!

*Seaside Community Yard sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.  in the amphitheater.  To make the experience even more pleasant and stress-free, Seaside is offering free parking and air-conditioned shuttle service from WaterColor Crossings on Hwy. 395 (right by PBTS!)  from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., making it easy for guests to park their car and ride to the center of town. And, for even more convenience, valet parking will be available on Smolian Circle from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

*Seaside Farmer's Market will be in WaterColor this Saturday from 9-1.

*Walton Outdoors will host the free Outdoors Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Live Oak Landing RV Resort, 229 Pitts Ave. in Freeport. Hands on activities include fishing, boating, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, wildlife encounters, interactive educational exhibits and more.

 *Join the race to find a cure for Parkinson's disease by running in or sponsoring the 2012 Jim Del Mauro Rosemary Run. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday on the East Lawn Green. Early registration is $35/adults and $20/students and $45/adults and $25/students on day of race. Visit www.jdmrosemaryrun.org.

* Emerald Coast Duck Regatta
Adopt a rubber duck and join in a day of family fun at the Second Annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta hosted by the Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Guild at 11 a.m. Duck Regatta begins at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the owners of the first ducks to cross the finish line. The event will have fun activities for the whole family, including face painters, crafts, scavenger hunts, and a chance to win the $50,000 Golden Duck Prize. Admission is free.

*Not in Sowal but worth  noting!   Destin Seafood Festival
The 34th Annual Destin Seafood Festival returns to its original home on the Destin harbor from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 7. Enjoy fresh local seafood, live music, artists, Kids Zone and more. The event is free and donations will be accepted at the door.

*Of course, you can just stay along 30A and just enjoy the beach, the bike path, and all of the fantastic shops and restaurants!   If you like to YOLO Board, you can rent one over at the WaterColor Boathouse and cruise Western Lake.
