Will you marry me?
We always love seeing this adorable couple at Pizza by the Sea and were thrilled to learn of their engagement. According to their friend and photographer, David Fang, "We wanted to take pictures in locations that had special meaning to the both of them and that were the scene of significant points in their relationship. Of course we had to come to Pizza by the Sea to start it all off!" Congratulations, Matthew & Brittany!

Update: Helping Locals in Need
You may recall we asked for your help with the families in Bruce. Special thanks to Kate Johnson, Jan Stevens, Susan Breeden, Ann Stone & Kim Pall for their selfless efforts in getting assistance to these hurting families. Here is the latest update from Kate:
The Muscogee Nation of Florida’s Rural Relief program is coming together. This week the Knights of Columbus donated a deep freezer and two refrigerators for the Food Bank, temporarily located at the Bruce United Methodist Church. We are still accepting donated food (see list here), and have requested some specific items which are lacking:
- baby diapers
- feminine hygiene items
- shopping bags
The following drop-off locations are currently accepting donated items:
- The Premiere Property Group (Both WaterColor & Seacrest Beach Offices)
- Davis Properties (Seagrove Beach, at the corner of 395 & 30-A)
- Fire Restaurant (Grayton Beach)
- Pizza by the Sea (WaterColor Crossings/Publix Shopping Center)
From Ann Tucker, The Muscogee Nations Tribal Chairwoman:
On behalf of the people of the Muscogee Nation of Florida and our Tribal Council, thank you for your donation to the Rural Relief up Relief Project. Rural Relief is a hand up—not a hand out—to people living in the rural interior of Walton County. Your gift will enable the purchasing and distribution of food, clothing, energy funding or emergency household expenses. May your path continue to be blessed.
Pancakes for a cause
Don't forget about the Heartworks Pancake Breakfast this Saturday at Point Washington Methodist. For just $5, you'll fill your tummies and your hearts by helping causes like The Talena Smiles Project and the Muscogee Nation kids in Bruce. You can buy tickets at Pizza by the Sea.

Seeing Double
Twins are just fun, right? Loved seeing these beautiful ladies at the pizza place this week. Marieanne {right} and her husband are the town architects of Alys Beach responsible for all of the gorgeousness that is Alys, including the Caliza Pool. Sister Marina is an architect as well, currently serving as Director of Town Planning with Duany Plater-Zyberk & Co. This family is oozing with talent. Their younger sister thrilled us by serving our pizza at her rehearsal dinner a couple of years ago at Alys. {P.S. Love the hat, Marieanne!}

Step into our...attic!
Want to make some extra cash? I was thrilled to learn about Ava's Attic owned by precious local Courtney Hood. They've been consigning furniture for some time and now they've added clothing and accessories. Courtney is one of those people you meet and instantly like. When I walked in this week, she and her mom greeted me with big smiles. It was great to see people shopping in their boutique full of new and gently used clothing.
Across the parking lot is their furniture showroom which boasted a farmhouse table that made me weak in the knees among other awesome finds like a large copper pot and tons of antique chairs. Ava's Attic is located in the Miramar Plaza in Destin {same shopping center as Tuesday Morning}. For the scoop on even bigger discounts they're offering right now, check out their Facebook page.
