Employee Spotlight: Jake

Jake is one of the youngest members of our team, but has really risen to the occasion despite a knee injury and jam-packed sports schedule. We also hear he is an excellent student. He is a hard-working, easy-going busser extraordinaire. We have enjoyed getting to know Jake and his family, especially on Sunday afternoons, when he and his friends gather at the pizza place to celebrate their faith. Here's more about Jake:

Where you are from: Gurnee, IL
Family: Parents, 2 brothers, 1 sis
Number of years you've lived here: 1 1/2
What brought you here: My parents and a big truck!
Another job you've held that's totally different from PBTS: Executive for Pizza Hut - just kidding - this is my first job!
Something interesting about you: I'm great with a hockey stick, and I know incredibly random facts about history.
Your favorite thing about working at PBTS or a funny story about working here: Collin playing flour fairy in his apron and...boxers???!! {We are sooo not going there, Jake.}

Meet the Knitwits

We have fallen in love with these guys who just arrived at Movies by the Sea. Knitwits are so soft, covered in funky fabric and fun for all ages. They're baby safe and even cool enough for your picky tweens. There are four styles in all with fun names like Whippitywit and Ditterwit. We hope you'll fall in love with them, too.

Employee Spotlight: Brian

You guessed it. The photo is not of Brian, but his adorable son. Brian flies under the radar most of the time, but he can make pizzas faster than anyone we've ever seen! He is a soft-spoken, hard-working father of two {soon to be three} and he brought years of experience in food service to our kitchen. Chances are, if you've loved your pizza lately, Brian is the one who made it. We're really glad to have him on our kitchen staff. Here's more about Brian:

Hometown: Bangor, ME
Family: Married to Amanda Perry; Kids are Charisse Ann and Robert Wayne {Rosalyn Caye due in May}
How long have you lived here? 10 years
Where else have you worked that is totally different from PBTS? I was a cook for Godfather's
What else? I love Wii and games about racing
What do you like most about working here? I get to make my favorite food every day of the week.

Howdy, Folks!

It's time for another preview of our new merchandise at Movies by the Sea. Meet Howdy the Bouncing Cow. He comes in blue and pink and provides hours of bouncing fun. Howdy is similar to the Hippity Hop from our childhood, but so much cooler. Remember this?

Come by and meet Howdy soon!

Employee Spotlight: Colby

Meet one of our stellar employees who is a local celebrity in his own right. All you have to say is "Colby" and everyone on 30A knows who you're referring to. He recommended his favorite pizza to so many people that we finally put it on the menu and named it after him. We're lucky to have Colby as a friend and member of our team. Here's a bit more about him.

Hometown: Enterprise, AL
Number of years you've lived here: 20
What brought you here: My dad retired from the army and we moved here.
Another job you've held that's totally different from PBTS: Publix cashier/grocery escort
Your favorite thing about working at PBTS: Creating the soon to be world famous Colby Special and meeting some of my best friends through the restaurant.

A Night for The Rep

If you read our blog, you know how much we enjoy supporting area charities and organizations. Thursday night we hosted "Dining for The Rep" and were honored to be chosen as their first restaurant in a series of fundraisers. We donated the food and attendees donated their money to a worthwhile cause. If you aren't familiar with The Rep, check out their website here. It was a great night and we thank everyone for supporting The Rep.

Good times for a good cause

We always love supporting the Saint Rita Preschool. Their Saturday fundraiser attracted a great group of families and teachers, including newly named director, Ali Barrett. Congratulations, Ali!

Let's Monkey Around

Remember your first sock monkey? Know someone who might love one? It's one of our newest arrivals at Movies by the Sea. We've also got sock monkey playground balls, yoyos and a super cool sock monkey jack in the box. These are fun new additions to our selection of retro toys.
