Kim

Leo Casas, owner of Braulio Casas Architects, made us aware of a local in need of help. Her name is Kim Estes. The beauty of our community and the amazing people who live here is that we all come together in times of need. Following is the message we received from Leo:

Kim Estes is a dear friend and a 9-year employee of Bud & Alley's (currently Special Events and Wedding Coordinator). Recently, Kim was diagnosed with Guillain-BarrĂ© Syndrome , a rare disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. Kim is currently paralyzed and at a specialty hospital in Pensacola. While many patients make a full recovery, it can be a very slow and difficult process, possibly lasting up to a year or longer. Hopes are high and prayers are strong. With that said, Bud & Alley’s is hosting a benefit to help relieve the financial burdens involved with Kim’s medical needs. We ask that you please join us for:

Party with a Purpose
Bud & Alley’s
Sunday, September 20th, 3 – 8 pm

$10 cover at the door (all proceeds going to the Kim Estes Assistance Fund)
** Free Food, Silent Auction and Live Bands including Cadillac Willy & Dread Clampitt **

Also, an account has been established in Kim’s name at the Wachovia Bank in Seaside for financial donations or they can be mailed to: Kim Estes Assistance Fund / P.O. Box 4898 / Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Thank you for your help and for the continued prayers and support for Kim and her family.

Baby on Board

One of our favorite customers has a baby girl on the way. She refused a shower, so a few girls forced an impromptu lunch on her at the pizza place this week. We can't wait to meet this sweet baby girl when she arrives...any day now.

Back to School Fun & Friends

It was so great to see many of our local friends last night to welcome the school year. And you know what I love about our place? People who are new to town can come on Tuesday nights and meet people. I also love how tables are pulled together and people join one another to dine whether they are new friends or old. I hope Pizza by the Sea will always be a place for friends.

Bling Bling

So I am typically not a girl who cares about jewelry, but I have to say that Magpies is quite possibly the most beautiful jewelry store I have ever seen! Decorated in hot pink, black and their signature magpie, the store is beyond gorgeous. It's owned by the sweetest mom and daughter team {Vickie & Shelby Miller} who carry bling ranging from affordable to "It's my anniversary, dang it!"

Hop on your bike and check it out. Magpies is located in Seaside's Ruskin Place by another one of our favorite stores, Albert F's. They also have eclectic finds like this tapestry bag.

Check out the gift box adorned with a tiny rhinestone - presh! Incidentally, big props to my husband for introducing me to this place via my recent birthday gifts.

It's back: See & Be Seen

It's been a while. My camera broke, the little one and I went on a Big Trip to Big D and we've been showcasing a mountain of gorgeous pics from Goode Green. Back by popular demand {and thanks in part to Kristen & Betsy}, it's "See & Be Seen!"

Rock star in the making

Had a great time watching one of our favorite bands, Cadillac Willy, this weekend. The highlight was John David's son playing his guitar at the tender age of two. Looks like a future rock star is in the making. {Pardon the quality of the cell phone pics.}
