We love La Botana
If you have not yet had the pleasure of dining at La Botana, run, run, run! The food is authentic Mexican tapas and is amazing. We took our little one there for her birthday and asked the chef to prepare a Tres Leches cake. To our surprise, he created the masterpiece below. We were so impressed with the food, service and attention to detail taken for her special day. {The cake was soooo good!} La Botana is located in Seagrove in the Grand Isle shopping center. For more info, check out their website.

Jessica, Part Deux
Uh oh. According to friend Kristen, Jessica and our daughter share the same birthday. That must explain her visit here this week. What better place to celebrate a special occasion? I'm sure Jessica has some positive attributes. We're both Texas girls and our fathers are both Baptist ministers, after all. But I'm hoping our little one will sport a bit more common sense {Remember her Chicken of the Sea comment?} and fashion sense {No Daisy Duke shorts, please!}.

Starstruck
I guess we all think we don't really care about celebrities until they show up in our little town. If you've been living under a rock, Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo and friends were vacationing in WaterColor recently. Neighborhood reporters from SowalScene, The Allen Clan and others relayed her whereabouts on their sites, and one even shot a photo of her on the beach. We were hoping she would show up for dinner one night, but were thrilled to hear one of her "helpers" picked up a pizza for her. JD joked that she might shuck Pizza Hut for Pizza by the Sea and become our spokesperson. Nevertheless, the funniest story to come from her visit involved her bumping into a sign outside the Seaside post office {read more here}.

Happy "2" Chickiepoo!
We are so in love with our little girl. Her significance in our lives eclipses everything else, and raising her has been our greatest joy. We look forward to the TERRIFIC TWO'S!!!

Do you see what I see?
For the little ones, outside is the place to be, with a window to what's going on inside, of course.

I know, I know...
...we say it all the time, but we really love our employees! We are so blessed with great folks. Thanks to the Pizza by the Sea staff for helping us break our sales record again this week:
David, Claire, Kate, Rich, Brian, Colby, Dylan, Jarrod, Collin, Beau, Jake, Graham, Sam & Wells {Is it just me or does this sound like the cast of a soap opera?}
We will award a FREE PIZZA to the first person to comment and identify the Auburn grad below who is not actually an employee. Don't forget to include your name to win.

Happy 4th
We closed the pizza place for the 4th so everyone could be with family. It is an annual tradition to meet friends bright and early for the Seaside parade. Our favorite part of this year's event was the Lighthouse Family Retreat float. Locals Lauren & Ron Romano organized children to help decorate their Big Blue Bus and graciously let the Lighthouse families to ride on it. {Please click here to learn more about this amazing organization.} Then there was nine-months-pregnant-mom-of three Michelle, who CARRIED her youngest in the parade. Our own Chef Rich's son James was adorable his little red car, followed by his gorgeous buddy Cecelia in her little red wagon. And God bless Rachel for bringing fans, so we could all survive the heat. It was a great day. Thank you to all the service men and women who helped make our freedom possible and Happy Birthday, America!

Beautify yourself
Customers Wendy and Jean-Noel Mignot, owners of Cafe Rendez-Vous in Seaside, have just opened La Vie est Belle {Life is Beautiful} next door to the wine bar. La Vie est Belle is a jewelry boutique featuring Wendy's world-famous pearls and other gorgeous gems. Stop by to see them soon. {See Wendy & Jean-Noel in the last photo dining with us earlier this year.}
