Back from the prom

The Seaside Rep Prom was so much fun! While Bryan didn't come home victorious, we were thrilled the honor of Prom King went to friend George Hartley. I think it is worth noting that I saw George drop some money in Bryan's bucket. He's a class act. Thanks again to everyone who helped us raise funds, including Stacey & Reynolds Henderson and Tom Rymer who handed us big fat checks during the event.

Here are a few photos for those of you who couldn't make it. I love that Margie wore my senior year prom dress (the light blue one with LOTS of ruffles). I also loved matching Meredith in our Barbie pink gowns we found during our four-hour shopping spree in Fort Walton Beach. Anna took the prize for the biggest hair and Paige donned the biggest sleeves. The award for the coolest tux will have to be a three-way tie between Bryan, John David & Ron, though Jason's air-brushed tux shirt was pretty darn creative. I think we're all hopeful The Rep will make this an annual event. If not, there may just have to be a Pizza by the Sea Prom!

Bryan's campaign for Prom King will end Friday night when he or one of the other worthy candidates will be crowned. We wanted to thank everyone who contributed publicly or anonymously for helping to ensure the Seaside Repertory Theatre will continue. We may not win, but The Rep will, and that's what counts!

Another future pizza eater is born

Bryan and Cindy Krutz welcomed Jeffrey Barron into their lives last week and we couldn't be happier for them. The Krutz family owns Courtyard Wine & Cheese in Rosemary Beach, and we always love seeing them at Pizza by the Sea. Congratulations Bryan and Cindy!

(Am I the only one who finds it amusing that every hospital in the U.S. has used the same baby caps for years and years? Don't we all have this same photo with the same cap? I guess it's become a rite of passage for babies.)

Tyler showed off his new puppy, the Strothers dined with their fun family, and the Bahrs were excited to tell everyone about the upcoming CVHN party (stay tuned for more info). The Georgians have now returned home and it's mostly locals until Memorial Day. Let's all enjoy this beautiful weather and remember to support your favorite local businesses. Here are a few of our favorites that also happened to be owned by our customers:

• Marla & Shane - Their new studio in Redfish Village is gorgeous. They offer unique frames, candles, jewelry and more. And don't forget to book your photo sessions before the tourists arrive.
• Seagrove Village Market - Go here for the best grouper sandwich on 30A.
• YOLO Boards - Tom Losee and his friend invented this Stand Up Paddle Board available for rent or purchase. Check out his other products, too.
• Borago - Our favorite date night spot! Everything is great, but we recommend the Scallops Appetizer, Arugula Salad, Linguine (the one with red sauce) and Pork Tenderloin.
• Fonville Press - Trivia Night happens the second Friday of each month and is so much fun. Get a team together or just show up and join someone else's team. Chef Olivier offers some great appetizers and wine to enjoy while you play.
• Cafe Rendez-Vous - Everyone thinks they're just a wine bar, but we love their Spicy Shrimp Sushi Rolls, Filet, Hummus and Nutella Crepes (sinfully good!).

Girls Weekend

This cute group of girls has been meeting for a girls weekend once a year for 19 years - wow! They all met in college and are enjoying a weekend retreat at Alys Beach. We were thrilled to entertain them after a relaxing day at the Caliza Pool.
